Welcome to our Farm Journal dear friend! Thank you for being here! The Farm Journal will feature a minimum of 2 blogs per week that will include Farm Reflections, Farm Announcements and Farm Practices explained. In this first blog you will be able to learn a bit more about who we are, what we envision creating at and from our farm in our shared community. You will also be able to learn about our farming practices, our educational offerings, and the goods we produce on the farm and where to get them locally. We are also inviting you to take a few actions to stay in touch with us and help us build our farm and educational facility to serve you best. Once again, thank you for being here. Who we are, what we envision and what we practice We are Anna Maria and Lucian, parents, farmers and educators, with a deep love and respect for all life, including yours! We are here in this space, at Sun And Bloom Farms, in Lebanon Missouri, committed to grow a diversity of nutrient dense, healthy, seasonally appropriate and beautiful food and medicine for the local community and beyond, while also regenerating and bringing sustainability to the ecosystems and communities we work in. That means that our practices are beyond organic standards, focusing on building resilient soil and biodiversity, while also inspiring, empowering and supporting others to participate in this healing movement. Our passion for this approach comes from more than a decade designing, developing and implementing community transformational programs within academic, government, business and non-profit environments. We trained and educated over ten thousand individuals in the realms of permaculture, horticulture, small scale regenerative farming, and homesteading, community building and entrepreneurial practical skills, while also growing tons of incredible food and medicine. We are now transforming this space, our third and indefinite farm, into a fully working multi enterprise agricultural and educational facility. We invite you to be part of this journey with us and we look forward to connecting with you! "We are a regenerative organic farm and permaculture learning facility outside of Lebanon Missouri. For our community, we grow nutrient dense vegetables and fruits, medicinal herbs, cut flowers and seedlings, and we raise free range organic fed chickens for market eggs. We also craft apothecary goods with wild and cultivated plants. In addition, we offer farm tours, hands-on homesteading workshops, community events and deep-dive training courses and apprenticeships on site. Visiting us, you would get to meet our goats, dogs, cats, guinea fowl and pigs also. We look forward to feed your mind, body and soul!" Our Hands-on Practical Education We bring over a decade of teaching and facilitating earth and people centered education and experiences to our farm workshops and deep-dive training. We believe that connecting with skills for resilience is indispensable to reaching a high human potential. We curated a beautiful schedule of Farm Tours, Homesteading Workshops and Evening Community Events, May through October 2022, to serve our local and regional communities, and a deep-dive Permaculture Course for anyone interested. Topics of the workshops include: master composting, edible gardening, chickens care, cheese making, bread making, preserving food and many other millenia old practices. We invite you to check out our Workshop & Events webpage to learn more and register. We are running a 20% off a bundle buy promotion for this month and have 10 spots left! We also have a weekly free, donation based, online offering we invite you to check out: Farmsteading Live Stories and Q&A every Wednesday from 6 pm CST. Where to get our farm Goods: We grow nutrient dense vegetables and fruits, medicinal herbs, cut flowers and seedlings, and we raise free range organic fed chickens for market eggs. We also craft apothecary goods with wild and cultivated plants. We will be selling at the Farmers’ Markets in Lebanon (starting in April), Camdenton (starting in May) and Linn Creek (starting in April), as well as directly on our farm. We will at one point in April or earlier announce our CSA drop-off offering also. In the meantime, the only Farm Goods you can purchase are Eggs and a few Apothecary items. You can purchase these online and come pick them up on our farm. Check out the Farm Goods webpage to learn more and purchase online. Help us create a Farm that serves you and our shared future Please consider filling out a quick feedback form so that we can better serve you and our shared community. Questions focus on what type of produce, learning workshops, and community gatherings are most interesting and of high value to you and your family. Getting to know our local community is of the utmost importance to us and this would be an asset for our planning and farming operations. Please take a few minutes to complete by clicking on the link button below titled "Survey". We are excited to share more with you every week in this format in addition to seeing you in person at markets and on farm events.
