May 3 — Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds - Mansfield, MO - General Admission: $10
The Baker Creek Flower Festival is a nationally recognized spring gathering hosted by Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds (RareSeeds.com), bringing together growers, seed savers, and garden educators from across the country. This is the fourth year we’ve been invited to teach — a true honor. This festival celebrates seed stewardship, biodiversity, and garden education at scale. It’s a powerful space for connecting regenerative growing practices with a wider community. Lucian’s Session will be on Homestead and Farm Design with Permaculture and will walk through the full process of regenerative, resilient farm and homestead design using our 10-step permaculture design framework. We’ll begin with vision — clarifying purpose and long-term goals — then move into understanding regional context, climate, soil, water, and landscape influences. From there, we’ll explore how to analyze land properly and translate that analysis into thoughtful, integrated design. Participants will see how resilient systems come together — including food production, water management, soil health, perennial plantings, animals, and infrastructure — all woven into a coherent, regenerative whole. This session offers a practical roadmap for anyone designing or redesigning a homestead or farm. |
