FREE PRACTICAL GUIDE
REGENERATIVE PROJECT VIABILITY CHECK
This free practical guide will help you assess whether your regenerative land project is aligned across four essential areas — land, people, economics, and implementation — so you can identify what is working, what still needs clarity, and what should be addressed before committing more time, money, labor, or infrastructure.
A Clear Starting Framework for Regenerative Land Projects

You may already have a vision for your land or project: gardens, orchards, food forests, better water systems, healthy soil, animals, habitat, gathering spaces, education, retreats, food production, or even a land-based enterprise. But a regenerative project is more than a collection of good ideas The real challenge is understanding whether the vision fits the land, whether the people responsible for it can realistically carry it, whether the economic resources exist to sustain it, and whether there is a practical pathway for implementation. A project can be ecologically inspiring and still become difficult to sustain when these pieces are not aligned.

The Regenerative Project Viability Check - A Brief Life & Livelihood Alignment Assessment for Land-Based Projects is a free practical guide designed to help you pause, assess where your project stands, identify what is already strong, and recognize the questions that may need to be answered before more money, labor, time, or infrastructure are committed.

What You Will Learn

  1. LAND — Does the Vision Fit the Place? Begin evaluating whether what you envision actually fits the land and region where the project is taking life. Consider climate, soils, topography, water, infrastructure, existing resources, regional conditions, limitations, risks, and opportunities rather than designing from ideas alone.
  2. PEOPLE — Can the People Carry the Vision? A land project is also a human project. Consider who will make decisions, perform the work, manage the systems, provide leadership, maintain the project, and adapt it over time — whether that means an individual, family, staff, volunteers, organizational leadership, partners, or a larger project team.
  3. ECONOMICS — Can the Available Resources Sustain the Vision? Not every project needs to generate income, but every project requires resources. Begin considering establishment costs, ongoing expenses, labor, infrastructure, funding, income where appropriate, and the other forms of support necessary to sustain the project without continually exhausting the people or organization carrying it.
  4. IMPLEMENTATION — Can the Vision Become Real in Wise Steps? Move beyond the final vision and begin thinking about the pathway required to reach it. Identify priorities, dependencies, professional support that may be needed, appropriate first phases, and the systems required to maintain, evaluate, and adapt the project over time.

Who This Guide Is For

This free practical guide was created for homeowners, landowners, homesteaders, farmers, regenerative growers, retreat and hospitality projects, land-based businesses, and people developing new or existing properties. It is also designed for project leaders, educators, organizations, schools, churches, nonprofits, community groups, campuses, businesses, municipalities, and other teams responsible for stewarding land-based projects.

You may find it especially useful if you:
  • Have many ideas for a property but are unsure what should happen first.
  • Are considering a new farm, homestead, retreat, garden, campus, community, educational, or land-based enterprise.
  • Already have a project underway but feel that it has become too complicated, expensive, labor-intensive, or difficult to manage.
  • Are preparing to invest significant money or labor and want to pause before moving forward.
  • Are trying to align ecological goals with family life, staff capacity, organizational realities, or financial resources.
  • Are refreshing, restructuring, or expanding an existing project.
  • Want a clearer understanding of what questions should be answered before moving into deeper design.

You do not need to be a permaculture designer or have previous regenerative-design experience. You only need a real project, a willingness to look honestly at its current reality, and about 10–15 minutes to begin.

When Your Project Needs More Than General Information

Books, courses, and free resources can help you understand the principles. Sometimes a particular property or project needs experienced, site-specific eyes. Sun and Bloom Regenerative Design works with homeowners, landowners, farmers, project leaders, businesses, schools, nonprofits, churches, organizations, and other land stewards through complete regenerative land design, focused consultations, design coaching and mentorship, and specialized soil assessment and fertility consulting. Our work begins with context rather than immediately prescribing solutions. We help identify what belongs on the land, what fits the people and resources available, how systems can work together, and what should happen first.
